I'm Back!

Hey Everyone!!It has been so long since my last post that I don't even know where to start. We have a lot going on and I can hardly keep up. Peyton is growing like a weed. She talks constantly and amazes us everyday with how smart is. She loves playing outside on her swing set, taking walks with momma, dressing up, singing, Mickey Mouse, drawing, and so much more. Our little stinker. We have also attempted potty training. Day 1 was great and after that was not so great. She's not a big fan of big girl panties and prefers her diapers. She even went as far as hiding her panties. Yes, My two year old hid her panties. I pulled them out of the drawer and she went and stuffed them into her grocery buggy. Then, acted as if she had no idea where they went. I found them and proceeded to put them on her when she took them back off and put them back in the drawer. Laughing at herself at what she had done. Needless to say, she had to wear the panties anyway and we have had a few accidents. I'm not being tough on her and feel that she will let us know when she is truly ready to make that step. We are putting her in panties in the mornings and then putting diapers on at nap time. Eventually she'll catch on to the potty seat.

I am currently 21 weeks pregnant and sometimes forget I'm pregnant. It's definitely a lot different this time around having to chase Peyton. Not much time for rest in the Allen household. I do feel that the past few weeks I have gotten a burst of energy (maybe nesting early). I have managed to start cleaning out our guest room to make a big girl room for Peyton. My mom made a beautiful bed for her and I have started looking for bedding. I forgot how much goes into preparing for a new addition to the family. However, I did make Chris a long list of things I would like to accomplish before baby. I'm sure he's looking forward to getting right on that for me.

I am so thankful for Chris as a husband but I am even more thankful for him as a father. He really is such a great dad and Peyton loves him so much. Sometimes, I don't give him enough credit for all that he does for us! He does an amazing job providing for us and loving us unconditionally. I really am the luckiest girl in the world! Chris has been encouraging me lately to take some time for myself and most importantly time for the two of us. He planned a Gatlinburg trip for us the first of Feb. and we had an amazing time. We spent several days just spending time with each other and laughing. We stayed in a beautiful cabin, ate lots of yummy food, shopped, drove to Cades Cove, and just relaxed. It was really a special trip for us. Living so far away from our families makes it tough for us to have date nights. So when we do have the opportunity to spend time together it makes it so much more special. We really appreciate the Allen's watching Peyton for us. Yes, this was the longest I have been away from her and missed her very much. I did shed some tears leaving her but loved the excitement on her face when we went to pick her up. A look I will never forget and we got the biggest hugs.
