What an amazing 4 weeks it has been. We can't believe our little Avery is finally here! Chris and I are so excited and blessed to be the parents of two beautiful little girls. It's such an amazing feeling to know that God has trusted us with these precious angels to raise. Both Peyton and Avery has brought so much love and joy into this world. We can already tell that they're going to be the best of friends.

The Sunday before our scheduled C-section we rushed around to get a few last minute things done. My mom came in town a few days early to help out and get the house ready for Avery's arrival. We decided on Sunday to get a quick lunch at Sonic. Chris was wanting to try the new hot dog that has everything on it including peppers. Not long after lunch, Chris ended up getting sick and having chills. He was sure it was food poisoning or a stomach virus. This made both of us nervous. Thinking if he's not better he may miss the birth of little Avery. He tried everything to help himself feel better. At 3:30 the next morning, both of us are wide awake talking about our sweet baby and wondering what to expect, wondering what she'll look like, wondering how Peyton will react to being a Big Sister, and wondering if Chris will vomit on me during the c-section.
We arrived at Northport Women's Pavilion around 5:00 a.m and wasn't suppose to be there until 5:30. Oh well... They put us in a room and we started filling out paper work. They hooked me up to the monitor and started iv's in my arm. I had to drink a bitter drink for nausea and wondered if I should have let Chris have it instead. He was walking back and forth the the restroom to try and vomit in hopes that would make him feel better. We then spoke with the anastegilogist and nurses about what to expect during the procedure. Shortly after, they came in and took us to surgery at 7:15 a.m. At that point, I was doing good just concerned about Chris. They told him to put on his scrubs and wait in this room outside of the operating room while they administered the spinal. I was really nervous at this point. I was hoping Chris would be there with me. It's pretty intense laying in this cold operating room waiting on them to start surgery. I hated the spinal!!! Really horrible!!! I cried!!! Then, it was over and Chris was able to come be with me. He asked the nurse for a face mask...poor guy! Everything else went pretty fast and I was able to hold my sweet Avery before going into recovery.

While I was in recovery, Chris was able to go see Avery. All the family was looking in the window and my mom picked Peyton up for her to see and she said, " What daddy doing?" We figured she was finally realizing that all this talk about a baby sister was really true. I found out later that Chris was able to take her into the nursery and she baby sister up close. He said she thought she was sweet and cute.

These are my two favorite pictures....

Nothing sweeter than when Chris looks at his precious girls. God picked us to have girls for a reason and I truly believe it's because Chris has such a big heart and love for his girls.

We are blessed and truly appreciate everyone's prayers and support. Avery is doing great. So, now we are home adjusting to life as a family of four. This whole experience is more amazing than I ever imagined it could be. Thank you to all our family and friends who came and saw us in the hospital and have been taking such good care of us. We are so blessed.

I will post more pictures from Avery's first 4 weeks at home soon.

Lots of Love,

The Allen's
